FOX PROPAGANDA NETWORK

I am going to try very hard not to spew my dislike a distrust toward the paid minions of Rupert Murdoch, instead I’ll try a calm analytical approach. It didn’t take long to come up with an acronym for FOX, it just hit me like a punch to the face. All of the factors that make up my little pet name, are inherent in It’s presentation of their so called fair and balanced reporting. The fact that they have the largest market share of viewers of any network out there really disturbs me; and it made me curious as to why this is so. Are they so much better than any of the other networks; I don’t think so. Are their Pundits any better or better educated, absolutely not. So why do people think that they are fair and balanced just because that happens to be their slogan. I guess that it’s true, that if you just repeat something enough times, then people will believe it to be the truth, even if it isn’t.

The New Oxford American Dictionary describes Propaganda as chiefly derogatory information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view and the dissemination of propaganda as a political strategy. I must admit that I am a progressive in my senior years, but I believe in only partial socialization. I don’t think that prisons should be privatized or social security or schools, that includes secondary education. Corporatization of our public schools has been an unmitigated disaster, and the corporatization of prisons has created an abominable crisis in minority neighborhoods. At the vanguard of this conservative take over of America is ALEC, (the American Legislative Exchange Council) and FOX News network, owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch. My assertion is that the FOX network has over stepped its bounds as a legitimate disseminator of factual information, or even informed opinion. They meet all of the criteria of a political propaganda machine.

“Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side. (…) The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget. Such being the case, all effective propaganda must be confined to a few bare essentials and those must be expressed as far as possible in stereotyped formulas. These slogans should be persistently repeated until the very last individual has come to grasp the idea that has been put forward. (…) Every change that is made in the subject of a propagandist message must always emphasize the same conclusion. The leading slogan must of course be illustrated in many ways and from several angles, but in the end one must always return to the assertion of the same formula.” Adolf Hitler form Mein Kampf-1925

Anyone who listens to more than one news source would recognize that Fox follows this formula pretty close.

Remember that constant repetition does not mean that what’s being repeated is necessarily the truth. Bullying and shouting shut up is Bill O’Reilly’s trade mark, he’s no master debater.  Fox is not fair or balanced, they go against every definition of fairness or balance in every dictionary.
